PNC Financial Services (2003)

PNC Business Banking Portal

As a part of the larger pnc.com redesign, the PNC Business Bank Web site needed to follow the same branding requirements, but its business-savvy audience demanded a different way to find and access information.

Challenges:

  • To display a large amount of information on one page with minimal scrolling.
  • To create a clean, uncluttered design with quick and easy access to all parts of the business banking site.
  • To define the interface and screen flow for a new Web Business Banking application.

Ranked "Fourth Best Business Web Site in North America"* in 2002, the success of this site was possible due to less restrictive technology requirements for business customers. Java, Javascript, dynamic HTML, and outside-the-box thinking were employed in order to produce a single, non-scrolling page containing information for 16 different business products, services, and applications. To help customers learn more about PNC's online business services, a self-guided tour was created to highlight each service - such as online banking, or check ordering - in a slide show format.
